ok so i want to speek to this person in italy im in england i have one of the latest versions of messanger (the one before beta) do i need to just buy a mic or do i have to download a specific software i have an xp... is it free?

i dont know waht you mean by "speek"... if you just wanna have a normal chat conversation then any version is fine, as long as your italian friend has a hotmail or msn account and an msn client (same applied to you). if by speak you mean talking then you do need a microphone, unless there is one built into your computer, some laptops have this. he will also need a microphone as well. just plug it in and msn should recognise it.
