Is studying in the U. S. worth it?

I am italian-american, and all my life I've wanted to go to high school in the U.S.

Next year it would be my last chance to do a year of high school there. Would it be worth it, since I want to go to college there? or would I regret it, since I have to leave my life in italy, my friends, ect...

Answer on Is studying in the U.S. worth it?

Gemma, your written English is perfect. Better than that of many Americans.

Please type "student exchange programs" in your browser. You will get many websites that will explain lots of information that may be of use to you. You would probably need a host family to make this happen.

If you do decide to come where you choose to go may make difference. Most states in the north eastern quarter of the U.S has large Italian /American communities, where as anything west of the Mississippi River will not. Good Luck

PS: American boys will find you very exotic.

Help with msn!!!! you know you want to help!!?

ok so i want to speek to this person in italy im in england i have one of the latest versions of messanger (the one before beta) do i need to just buy a mic or do i have to download a specific software i have an xp... is it free?

Answer on Help with msn!!!! you know you want to help!!?

i dont know waht you mean by "speek"... if you just wanna have a normal chat conversation then any version is fine, as long as your italian friend has a hotmail or msn account and an msn client (same applied to you). if by speak you mean talking then you do need a microphone, unless there is one built into your computer, some laptops have this. he will also need a microphone as well. just plug it in and msn should recognise it.

I'd like to travel overland to Japan through Europe and Asia what's the best way to do it?

I'd like to know the respective merits of travelling alone or in a organised tour and how much (roughly) it would cost if i stay at youth hostels and tighten my belt. I'd like to go through Italy and Greece en route...

Can anyone translate this into Italian?

Properly and without a translator?

Hello my international best friend! :) I hope everything is well in Italy. I'm not really sure where to begin, but I do have a lot to tell you.

For one, I'm super excited about my potential trip to visit you next summer. I've probably mentioned it 100 times but I have wanted to travel to Italy for as long as I can remember. I love Italian food, and food in general, but I'm sure that the American version of Italian food isn't nearly as good as the authentic.

By the time you get this, you'll probably be back in school, which sucks but hopefully it's not too bad for you. School has actually been enjoyable for me. I just hate waking up in the morning and doing homework. But my friends are there so it makes everything better :)

I finally got my learner's permit! I can drive with a licensed adult OVER the age of 21, but not by myself. I get my actual license in June, but my parents are buying me a car sometime in February. I'm actually a really good driver, but I'm always scared to get into a car accident.

I'm kind of curious as to how you spend your free time. When I get bored, I go on Facebook or sometimes, I go to my friend's house, but nothing exciting. Do you live in a small town that you can walk to all the shops in? Nothing is within walking distance of my house, so I'm usually stuck at home.

I usually write in cursive, but everyone always complains that they can't understand what I'm writing, so I'm really sorry if my handwriting is sloppy.

Paramore has been to my area(Florida) like 3 times this year! I almost went, but I decided against it at the last minute. I know you LOVE Paramore, so hopefully if you ever come visit me they'll be in town so we can go.

I'm not going to make this letter super long because my hand hurts and I don't want to bore you, but I'm really looking forward to hearing back from you!

Ciao mio migliore amico/a ( if your friend is male " AMICO "; if she's female: AMICA ) internazionale :-) Spero che in Italia tutto vada bene.

Need Internship Ideas?

I'm at university at the moment studying a bachelor of international studies, majoring in International Relations and minoring in History. Next year I will be required to do an internship, and I am looking for ideas of companies to approach.

I'm from Victoria, Australia and would prefer to do one overseas, England, South Africa, Germany, France and Italy being ideal (although I only speak English so the last three may not be very realistic) just wondering if you have any ideas about where I could do an internship!

Thanks in advance.

Answer on Need Internship Ideas?

Hey there...I actually did an internship abroad last year in Asia (specifically India) because it is a growing economy. Tons of Aussies were there as well as Brits too. I'd recommend going to India because it's going to look really good on your resume, it's super cheap, and really beautiful. We traveled a lot on the weekends to untouched forests, ancient ruins, dance villages....and the nightlife was really good too. I went through Leave UR Mark and they have several opportunities on the website and also find custom placements. My food and housing was arranged by them so I didn't really need to worry about preparing for much. Good luck! http://www.leaveurmark.com
